Dr Peter Ridd says:
“In recent years, the media around the world has been reporting coral bleaching events in increasingly apocalyptic terms. This data proves that they are simply scaremongering.”
The increase will be surprising to members of the public, who are regularly hit with scare stories about coral bleaching and false tales about a reef in long-term decline.
A new note, published today by the Global Warming Policy Foundation, explains that the data shows clearly how a handful of coral bleaching events that have affected the reef since 2016 have had very limited impact on overall coral cover.
GWPF director, Dr Benny Peiser said: “This is just the latest example of empirical data making a mockery of the catastrophists. For how much longer do they think they can get away with it?”

Germany's Economy and Climate Minister, a Green Party leader, lied about nuclear fuel rods
The German government said it could not keep operating nuclear plants past 2022 because uranium fuel rods were not available, but that turns out to be a lie. This is a bombshell revelation and should raise alarm bells in the West, including in the U.S.

“Nuclear power doesn’t help us there at all,” Habeck said on Tuesday. “We have a heating problem or an industry problem, but not an electricity problem — at least not generally throughout the country.”
As for the fuel rods, Australia, Canada, and the United States could all create fuel rods to supply the plants and, just now, Die Welt has reported that, in a confidential meeting on March 4, 10 days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, nuclear energy representatives told Habeck and Steffi Lemke, the Minister for Nuclear Safety, who is also from the Green Party, that they could indeed accelerate the acquisition of nuclear fuel rods.
In fact, the rods could have been acquired even more quickly than 15 months. In February, just days after Putin’s invasion, the German government asked the US nuclear fuel manufacturer, Westinghouse, an established supplier of German nuclear plants, whether it could make fuel rods on short notice. Westinghouse managers said they could — and that they could deliver them by the end of 2022.

Na de Syriëcrisis stond de Conventie van Genève ter discussie. Terecht?
(beslist) ‘Neen. De conventie blijft onvoorstelbaar sterk in het garanderen van asiel bij een reële nood. Samen met Europese regelgeving vormt ze een heel goed kader om de nood aan bescherming te beoordelen. Ze in vraag stellen is onverantwoord en onrealistisch. De organisatie van de procedure en het uitwerken van een effectief asiel- en migratiebeleid is een ander paar mouwen.
Pjotrs commentaar: De Conventie van Genève ging oorspronkelijk enkel over vluchtelingen die wegens een oorlog hun land ontvluchtten en dat was een grote vooruitgang. Het probleem is ontstaan toen (onder andere binnen de VN) de politiek-correcte kerk migranten dezelfde rechten wou toekennen. Daarover is een terechte discussie ontstaan en het maakt een rationeel migratiebeleid heel moeilijk. Ook Angela Merkel verslikte zich door vluchtelingen en migranten op één hoop te gooien.

Why the Chair of the Lancet’s COVID-19 Commission Thinks The US Government Is Preventing a Real Investigation Into the Pandemic
Het moet al minstens twee jaar geleden zijn dat een correspondent beweerde dat de uitbraak van de COVID-19 pandemie niet in Wuhan begon. Hij gaf aanwijzingen maar geen bewijzen, maar het bleef wel in mijn geheugen hangen. Daaraan dacht ik toen ik zopas het hierboven geciteerde artikel ontving. Daarin lezen we: Prof. Jeffrey Sachs is the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and the President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. He has also served as the chair of the COVID-19 commission for leading medical journal the Lancet.:
Through his investigations as the head of the COVID-19 commission, Prof. Sachs has come to the conclusion that there is extremely dangerous biotechnology research being kept from public view, that the United States was supporting much of this research, and that it is very possible that SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, originated through dangerous virus research gone awry.
Dat er in de VSA en andere landen onderzoek plaatsvindt mag niemand verbazen. We weten intussen ook dat de VSA betrokken waren bij een bio-lab in Marioepol, Oekraïne en in Wuhan, China.
De voornaamste reden waarom ik het artikel van Prof. J Sachs doorstuur en aanbeveel om te lezen, is dat de journalist hem confronteert met andere stellingen. Dat Sachs daarop antwoord met argumenten, dat hij de kennis heeft en een functie bekleedde die hem toeliet om vragen te stellen. Dat hij geen conclusie trekt maar gewoon vraagt om een onderzoek: “What I’m calling for is not the conclusion. I’m calling for the investigation. Finally, after two and a half years of this, it’s time to fess up that it might have come out of a lab and here’s the data that we need to know to find out whether it did.”
Onderzoek omdat hij terecht vreest dat dergelijke labo-onderzoeken nog meer gevaren inhouden voor de volksgezondheid.
Mijn medisch gevormde lezers zullen ongetwijfeld deze bijdrage aandachtig lezen. Sommigen zullen het wellicht afwijzen, maar voor iedereen die gebeten is om te weten, blijft de vraag overeind: Waarom een taboe op een onderzoek naar de oorsprong? Cui bono?
